Trick or Treat

Went to the agility trial again today.  I couldn't be prouder of Mr. Mav.  He did so well - he was so relaxed that he was tugging with friends when I wasn't even around.  I was very proud of my boy.

And a friend took some amazing photos outside with the colourful fallen leaves - just stunning photos.

Oh - and Tana - you know I love this boy because when I was done at the trial I drove out to the confirmation show to check things out.  I picked up his training lead - but do I really have to prance around in a suit with my dog?  Sooo many things wrong with that :)

I am soooo in love with the photos Harold took.  He did an amazing job - what a cute face!  (and I am talking about Maverick - not Harold...lol)

When is it my turn mamma?

Mav went to his first agility trial.  I didn't even make it through the front door without Mav being taken away from me to everyone to see the new puppy.  He did well with all the new sounds and smells.  It's good that he's getting used to the environment since he's going to be spending a lot of time there in the future :)

But I'm cute mamma - why can't I have the run of the house?

For the past couple of night we have been working on crate games and tonight we started on his "sit"

It's hard for me to take photos when we are training because he needs all of my attention - so here are some shots of him sitting in his expen - trying to get me to play with him.  Sorry - Mr. Mav... I am immune to Dalmatian cuteness!  Cinder's already tried all that sappy stuff with me...lol!

Oh- and just now I tried to file down his nails with an emery board.  Just wanted him to get used to the feeling.  At first he struggled but after I gave him a chewy, he just sat and chewed on it while I slowly filed each and every nail.  Are you kidding me?  Dogs can do that?  I'm in shock!  What a good boy!

Is this tail a chew toy?

Poor Spotty - he is now letting Mav play on him, but I have a feeling he's not going to be too impressed when Mav uses his tail as a chew toy

We're almost there!

For the last few days, Cinder (I also call him Spotty) has not been a happy camper with the little guy around - but something changed today.  He was going near Mav a bit more and loves when baby spot doesn't finish his meals.

Spotty and I usually hang out on the couch together, but last Sunday, he wouldn't come near me or the couch when Mav was around.

Well - this is what's happening right now -

I think we might have a break through :)

An hour later this is what the couch looked like - (and Spotty did this all on his own) - 

BTW - it is quite challenging to take photos and type with a sleeping dog on your lap

It all started with a Spot

Instead of boring everyone on facebook (by everyone, I should say the non-dal lovers who are tired of checking out puppy photos) with all of the stories of Maverick and Cinder, I thought I would start of blog for those interested.

Really this is for BJ - so he can keep an eye on this special guy :)
